9/18 - Go over Newton's Law problems and Research Paper

Today I finished handing back the science fair ideas to those who hadn't received them back. Then we went over the 2 problems (in detail) that you had received on Friday.

After that we talked about the research paper (we went into this in detail):
It is worth 100 points.
90% (90 points) is the paper itself. The paper NEEDS to be written in 12 pt., Times New Roman font, double-spaced. Any pictures should be at the END (appendix).

Of those 90 points, 70 points is:
-introduction
-main body (focus on what your paper is about, specifics about those items)
-Previous research that has been done before (involving/related to what you are doing your science fair project on)
-conclusion
This part of the paper should be AT LEAST 2.5 pages.

The other 20 points is the hypothesis. Your hypothesis is NOT just an "if" "then" statement. It should include reasons (from your research) why you believe that your hypothesis is correct, and specifics on what you believe will happen in your experiment. This should be AT LEAST 5-6 sentences. Some will most likely be 2-3 paragraphs (depends on what you are doing your project on).

The final 10% is the bibliography.
-Needs to be a total of 5 resources. 4 CAN BE internet sources, one MUST BE non-internet!! You do not need to write out these resources in proper MLA format, for websites, writing the website is enough, for books, just write the book name and the pg.#s that you got your information from (same for a magazine, name of magazine, date of publication, and pg.#s).
