1/3 - Ch 29 Worksheet and Bonus Assignment

Today you received the worksheet for Chapter 29. We began talking about the characteristics and trends of the different planets. Then we learned about astronomical units and that it was equal to the distance between the earth and the sun. We then measured the distance between the sun and the planets in astronomical units (au).

I then talked to all of the science fair people about the requirements for the science fair board. Remember, you also need to have a folder which contains all of your paperwork (and a table of contents). The science fair is due January 9.

Then we talked about the bonus assignment (1st and 6th periods will learn more about it tomorrow). The bonus is due on January 12. You go to the planet walk with 11 sheets of paper and count the number of steps between, then you write down those steps and make a ratio of steps to aus. Here is a sheet that you can use to do this:

Then you need to make etchings of the drawings on the pillars (all 10 of them).
