9/30 - Current Events and talk about Science Fair Projects

Today we talked about current events. There was a recent study done on artic ice that showed the extent that it has dissapeared over the last 25 years. We read through the article and talked about exactly what global warming and the greenhouse effect is (we will be learning about it in the book this next week, but this gives you a heads up on what its doing to the real world). Then we talked about what the stars look like currently, and what you can observe in the sky if you look out this weekend.

Then, you got back your science fair ideas, projects that could be done were highlighted. You need to tell me the project you decided on by the END OF NEXT WEEK! The 3 page paper that researches your topic and provides background information about what you are doing is due on October 25 (so you have 5 full weekends to complete it).

We also had to change around when some things were going to be due because we have off next Friday, October 7. Because of that, the test is being pushed back to the 18th. Look to the right (at the assignments)to see the changes that were made.
